ATLANTA, GA – October 11, 2005 — PossibleNOW, the trusted
source for consumer data privacy management solutions and services, announced
today that Ken Sponsler, general manager of its consulting services practice,
earned certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals
(IAPP). By virtue of passing a rigorous and comprehensive written exam
covering management techniques, regulatory familiarity, privacy terms,
and privacy protection case studies, Sponsler qualifies for the Certified
Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) designation.
With more than 2,000 individual and corporate members, the IAPP defines
and supports the profession of privacy by being a forum for interaction,
education and discussion across industries. More than 350 of its members
have earned the CIPP designation. Sponsler is one of only six other CIPP
designees in Georgia.
The CIPP designation confirms that its holder has achieved understanding
of key legal, technical and operational concepts, and applications in the
handling of consumer information. It offers individual privacy professionals
a means of distinguishing themselves as among the upper tier of the privacy
industry, while offering privacy-centric organizations the assurance that
the individual meets a high standard of knowledge and achievement within
the profession.
The first-ever broad-based privacy certification in the United States,
the CIPP stresses the fundamentals of privacy. It also establishes educational
and testing standards for the privacy profession.
Sponsler, as general manager of PossibleNOW’s consulting services
practice, works with clients to determine their overall compliance level
with various privacy and consumer marketing legislation. The practice is
built on PossibleNOW’s years of experience in designing and providing
compliance technology solutions including DNCSolution, its Internet-based
application for Do Not Contact compliance.
