DNCSolution™ Handles Wireless Number Portability Compliance

ATLANTA, GA – May 19, 2004 – PossibleNOW, the leading provider of Do Not Contact compliance solutions to direct marketers, announces a comprehensive solution to the Wireless Number Portability issue. This newly expanded service lets direct marketers ensure compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act that prohibits direct marketers using automated or predictive dialers from placing unsolicited sales calls to wireless numbers or pagers.

Wireless Number Portability lets consumers keep their phone numbers when switching between one wireless service provider and another, or between a local landline telephone company and a wireless provider. While this portability makes it possible for consumers to switch service providers without having to contemplate the impact of changing their telephone numbers, it means that a landline phone number can be ported to a wireless number, thus becoming a prohibited number, even if it is not on any Do Not Call list..

PossibleNOW’s new service is part of the Premium Services Filter bundle in DNCSolution. The Premium Services bundle includes access to the Wireless Block Identifier from the DMA and the Canadian Marketing Associations Telephone Preference Service database. This new service lets subscribers “scrub” calling lists against the wireless block identifier list and remove those numbers.
